CSi Year in Review- 2021

2021 was a memorable year at CSi Advisory Services. With 2022 right around the corner, we’ve compiled a roundup of some of the most notable events and experiences that positively shaped our organization this year.

January 2021 kicked off CSi’s 50th Anniversary! We commemorated this significant milestone in a few ways throughout the year. First, we shared our company timeline on our website, inviting our community to join us for a walk down memory lane with five decades of photos, stories and growth. You can check it out HERE.

In our March blog post, we shared some stats and comparisons to showcase how much our world, culture, and industry has changed since CSi began in 1971. Put on your bell-bottoms, find your old tie dye shirt, and take it back to 1971 at our post HERE.

In July, we celebrated 50 years with our current team members and their guests by setting out on the White River for an evening boat cruise, courtesy of Broad Ripple Boat Company. We enjoyed an evening of good food, sharing memories, champagne toasts, and even a few rounds of CSi trivia!

In September, we were thrilled to host our clients, partners, family, and friends for an outdoor open house 50th Anniversary celebration. This event was a major highlight of 2021, and one we will continue to look back on fondly for years to come. With 50 years in business, company traditions are bound to develop. In 2021, we were able to keep our older traditions alive while also introducing some new ones. This year, our annual CSi Fun Day was held at Birdie’s Mini Golf Course, where we enjoyed a few rounds of friendly competition before heading to Blind Owl Brewery for lunch.

In August, we headed to Gleaner’s Food Bank for CSi Service Day. At the end of our day at Gleaner’s our team and fellow volunteers packed 23,115 pounds of food, which corresponds to 19,329 meals for Hoosiers in need of food assistance. This is one of our team’s favorite days of the year, and we shared all the details in our 2021 CSi Service Day blog post.

We also threw some new activities into the mix this year, including a team building training on Engaging with the Enneagram, and a Christmas Bake-Off competition!

2021 brought many professional highlights for our organization as well. Thanks to COVID vaccine developments, we were able to get back to in-person conferences, meetings, and group education sessions after a fully virtual year in 2020.

In August, we attended one of the largest HR conferences in the country, the SHRM HR Indiana Conference. In addition to connecting with attendees at the CSi Advisory Services booth in the HR Solutions Center, Kristi Baker was featured as a session speaker. She presented on the timely topic of Reshaping Retirement due to the COVID Crisis: Strategic Considerations for HR Professionals.

Although we continue to offer virtual meetings for our retirement plan sponsors and participants, our CSi advisors were happy to bring back in-person meetings and on-site education sessions for our clients who prefer this option.

In addition to one-on-one meetings and group education sessions, we hosted seven webinars and one in-person training for our retirement plan clients.

Our Financial Wellness Webinar series (offered to CSi retirement plan participants) covered the topics of Securing Social Security, Retirement Within Reach, Getting the Most from Your Medicare Benefits, and Work, Life, and Money: Creating a Living Financial Plan.

As for our Fiduciary Education Series (offered to retirement plan sponsors and fiduciary committees) we hosted three webinars, A Guide to Plan Design in 7 Steps, Creative Problem Solving, and One Fund. Many Benefits: American Funds Target Date Series. In September, we hosted Plan Sponsor Preparedness, a half-day in-person training for managers of employer-sponsored retirement plans.

Spanning the eight CSi events this year, we welcomed guest speakers and industry experts from Franklin Templeton Investments, Purple Ink LLC, John Hancock, Securian Retirement Services, Principal Global Investors, and Capital Group. Worldwide, 2021 was a year of challenges, triumphs, and everything in between. Of course, our year at CSi consisted of much more than these featured highlights. Each day, our company and our team has continued to reflect, adapt and embrace change in order to better serve the needs of our clients. The adversity of this year has reinforced our aim to be a trusted partner that our clients can lean on during turbulent times. As we close this chapter, we are grateful to our clients, partners and industry connections who have made this year one to remember. In 2022, CSi will continue to strive to be a committed partner in helping our clients navigate the journey to a successful retirement.
