CSi Service Day 2021

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

A longstanding component of CSi's philanthropy model is the annual CSi Service Day. This dedicated day of service gets our team out of the office and into the community, where we roll up our sleeves and engage in hands-on service.

CSi’s 2021 Service Day took place on August 5th, where we spent the day at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, one of the leading organizations involved in fighting hunger in Indiana. Gleaners provides items to hunger relief agencies and schools throughout 21 counties in central and southeastern Indiana.

The CSi team spent the day in the warehouse. Half of our group sorted the donations of food and household goods, checking for any damages and expiration dates.

Meanwhile, the other half of the CSi team weighed and organized the donations to prepare them for distribution among Gleaner’s many delivery channels and relief programs.

At the end of CSi’s two volunteer shifts, our team and fellow volunteers packed 23,115 pounds of food. This number corresponds to 19,329 meals for our fellow Hoosiers in need. Additionally, the Gleaners staff shared that during our first volunteer shift, we set a new organization record for pounds of food sorted in one shift!

As in years past, our day of service at Gleaners brought us closer as a team, and left us feeling re-centered and renewed in our commitment to give back to our Indiana community.
