Why I Go To Work Everyday?

Growing up the son of two teachers, I was instilled with the importance of continued learning early in my life. This led me to be drawn to solve analytical and practical problems. I enjoy learning about the different processes businesses use to function. Learning the intricacies of these practices and optimizing them for clients and business alike has been the driving interest in my career choice. In my career, I hope to continue to learn and understand new business practices in order to improve customers’ experiences.

How Did I Get Here?

With my father and brother, I helped run a small landscaping company. I also interned with a local startup where I grew a love for the personal touch of small business. Through this I developed a strong sense of personal finance. I have always been involved in team activities, where I learned the values of working together to achieve a common goal. I found satisfaction in collaboration with others to better myself and each other. Trying to extend these values of small business to a finance role I learned of the benefits of retirement planning. With CSi, I was able to combine my interest in personal finance with solving analytical problems, and all for the betterment of a client.

Why I Care About This Industry?

I knew in passing about retirement planning, mostly from residual information passed on from my parents. I realized early on that planning for retirement played a key role in sound personal finance, and extended much beyond the savings account I was encouraged to open so I could “hopefully retire one day.” Retirement planning is key for the quality of life for so many and many have very little knowledge of the proper practices. Investment becomes more about an individual’s wants and needs, and is simply a more personal aspect of finance.

Who I Really Am . . .

I am from Tell City, a small town in southern Indiana. I attend DePauw University in Greencastle, IN where I major in Economics and Mathematics and I am a Rector and Honor Scholar. At DePauw, I am a member of Phi Delta Theta where I serve as the House Manager on our executive board. In my free time I enjoy golfing and learning about US and Economic history.
